The Patriot Pioneers basketball squad (Nokesville, VA), was nudged 40-36 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Independence (Ashburn, VA)

With the victory, Independence advances its record to 1-3 on the year. The travel to Gainesville (Gainesville, VA) to battle the Cardinals in a Cedar Run contest on Thursday, December 11. The Cardinals go into the contest with a record of 3-1. Gainesville won 65-15 in their recent league contest against Osbourn (Manassas, VA)

In their next game, the Pioneers battle the Chantilly Chargers (Chantilly, VA) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, December 11. Patriot will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Chargers enter the match with a 3-1 record after their 41-37 non-league win over George C. Marshall (Falls Church, VA).
