Mayo Spartans (Rochester, MN) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Mankato East Cougars (Mankato, MN), 80-78 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mayo upgrades its record to 5-0 on the season. The Spartans host Austin (Austin, MN) to clash with the Packers in a AAA Section 1 bout on Friday, January 13. The Packers go into the bout with a record of 4-1.

Next up, the Cougars clash with the Austin Packers (Austin, MN) in a AAA Section 1 bout, on Friday, January 27. Mankato East will attempt to upgrade on its 4-1 season record.
