The South Pontotoc Cougars (Pontotoc, MS) basketball nipped the host Pine Grove Panthers (Ripley, MS), 61-60 in Tuesday's non-league test.

The Cougars (16-1) will now prepare for their test against Pontotoc (Pontotoc, MS). The Warriors go into the 4A Region 2 test with a 6-1 record.

The Panthers now own a 9-5 record. They play next when they travel to Noxubee County for a non-league test on Thursday, December 29.
