Blackstone Valley Prep PRIDE (Cumberland, RI) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Ponaganset Chieftains (North Scituate, RI), 55-54 in a league bout.

With the win, Blackstone Valley Prep upgrades its record to 3-1 on the season. The PRIDE host Rogers (Newport, RI) to clash with the Vikings in a Division 2 bout on Friday, December 22. The Vikings go into the bout with a record of 4-1. Rogers won 52-42 in their recent league bout against Shea (Pawtucket, RI)

Next up, the Chieftains clash with the Burrillville Broncos (Harrisville, RI) in a Division 2 bout, on Thursday, December 21. Ponaganset will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Broncos go into the bout with a 4-1 record after their 62-42 league win over Mt. Hope (Bristol, RI).
