Ben L. Smith Golden Eagles (Greensboro, NC) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Grimsley Whirlies (Greensboro, NC), 50-37 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Ben L. Smith upgrades its record to 5-0 on the season. The Golden Eagles travel to Greensboro Day School (Greensboro, NC) to play the Bengals in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 21. The Bengals go into the bout with a record of 12-2. Greensboro Day School won 66-26 in their recent non-league bout against Ragsdale (Jamestown, NC)

Next up, the Whirlies play the Ragsdale Tigers (Jamestown, NC) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, December 21. Grimsley will attempt to upgrade on its 2-5 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 4-3 record after their 66-26 non-league loss to Greensboro Day School (Greensboro, NC).
