Minnesota High School Basketball - New Prague can't hold off Mayo
December 20, 2024: New Prague, MN 56071 Mayo Spartans (Rochester, MN) supporters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host New Prague Trojans (New Prague, MN), 77-70 in a league match.
With the victory, Mayo advances its record to 4-2 on the year. The Spartans travel to Austin (Austin, MN) to meet the Packers in a non-league battle on Thursday, January 2. The Packers enter the battle with a record of 2-4.
The Trojans now own a 0-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Lakeville North for a AAAA Section 1 battle on Friday, December 27. New Prague will meet a Panthers squad coming off a 82-62 league win over Century (Rochester, MN). The Panthers record now stands at 4-4.
