In Friday's league test, the Springfield Spartans (Akron, OH) basketball squad got by the visiting Coventry Comets (Akron, OH), by a score of 39-32.

Next, the Spartans clash with the Firestone Falcons (Akron, OH) in a non-league test, on Saturday, December 28. Springfield will attempt to improve on its 2-7 season record. The Falcons come into the test with a 3-4 record after their 45-13 non-league loss to Tallmadge (Tallmadge, OH).
