December 21, 2021: Manchester, IA 52057 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Mt. Vernon Mustangs (Mt. Vernon, IA) and the host West Delaware Hawks (Manchester, IA), saw Mt. Vernon's basketball squad knock off West Delaware by a tally of 45-31.
With the victory, Mt. Vernon improves its record to 4-5 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Maquoketa (Maquoketa, IA) to play the Cardinals in a WAMAC - East challenge on Tuesday, January 4. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a record of 3-6. Maquoketa lost 58-48 in their recent league challenge against Marion (Marion, IA)
Next up, the Hawks play the Solon Spartans (Solon, IA) in a WAMAC - East challenge, on Tuesday, January 4. West Delaware will attempt to improve on its 3-5 season record. The Spartans come into the challenge with a 4-5 record after their 82-21 non-league win over Independence (Independence, IA).
