The Mekeel Christian Academy Lions basketball team scored 59 points and held the host Utica Academy of Science Atoms to 31 in the Lions non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Lions now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bishop Ludden for a non-league contest on Tuesday, January 10.

The Atoms (1-5) will now prepare for their contest against Henninger (Syracuse, NY). The Black Knights enter the non-league contest with a 1-4 record.
