The Philipsburg-Osceola Mountaineers basketball team scored 53 points and held the host Moshannon Valley Black Knights/Damsels to 27 in the Mountaineers non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Mountaineers now sport a 1-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Curwensville for a non-league contest on Wednesday, December 28. Philipsburg-Osceola will battle a Golden Tide team coming off a 59-51 league loss to Harmony Area (Westover, PA). The Golden Tide record now stands at 2-2.

The Black Knights/Damsels (0-5) will now prepare for their contest against Mount Union (Mount Union, PA). The Trojans enter the Inter County - North contest with a 3-3 record. In their last contest, Mount Union triumphed over Glendale (Flinton, PA), 65-62, in a league contest.
