East Union Urchins (Blue Springs, MS) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Myrtle Hawks (Myrtle, MS), 65-54 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, East Union upgrades its record to 6-6 on the campaign. The Urchins host Oak Hill Academy (West Point, MS) to play the Raiders in a non-league bout on Friday, December 29. The Raiders come into the bout with a record of 0-4.

Next up, the Hawks play the Byers Lions (Holly Springs, MS) in a 1A Region 2 bout, on Friday, January 5. Myrtle will attempt to upgrade on its 2-17 season record. The Lions come into the bout with a 11-2 record after their 93-19 league win over Jumpertown (Booneville, MS).
