Minnesota High School Basketball - Mankato West nips New Ulm
December 21, 2023: Mankato, MN 56001 Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Mankato West Scarlets (Mankato, MN) and the visiting New Ulm Eagles (New Ulm, MN), saw Mankato West's basketball squad hold off New Ulm by a count of 71-70.
With the victory, Mankato West upgrades its record to 5-2 on the campaign. The Scarlets host Winona (Winona, MN) to play the Winhawks in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 22. The Winhawks come into the challenge with a record of 1-5. Winona lost 84-65 in their recent non-league challenge against Owatonna (Owatonna, MN)
Next up, the Eagles play the New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva Panthers (New Richland, MN) in a non-league challenge, on Wednesday, December 27. New Ulm will attempt to upgrade on its 3-4 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 2-4 record after their 51-31 league loss to United South Central (Wells, MN).
