Somerville Highlanders (Somerville, MA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Medford Mustangs (Medford, MA), 62-43 in a league bout.

With the win, Somerville upgrades its record to 1-3 on the season. The Highlanders host Whittier RVT (Haverhill, MA) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Thursday, December 28. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 1-2. Whittier RVT won 71-65 in their recent non-league bout against Ipswich (Ipswich, MA)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Masconomet Regional Chieftains (Boxford, MA) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, December 27. Medford will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record.
