Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Mingo Central Miners (Matewan, WV) and the visiting Phelps Hornets (Phelps, KY), saw Mingo Central's basketball squad hold off Phelps by a tally of 58-54.

With the victory, Mingo Central improves its record to 3-2 on the campaign. The Miners travel to WestSide (Clear Fork, WV) to confront the Renegades in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 22.
