Northern Nash Knights (Rocky Mount, NC) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting SouthWest Edgecombe Cougars (Pinetops, NC), 77-66 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Northern Nash upgrades its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Kinston (Kinston, NC) to play the Vikings in a non-league bout on Wednesday, January 3. The Vikings come into the bout with a record of 7-2. Kinston won 78-54 in their recent non-league bout against West Carteret (Morehead City, NC)

Next up, the Cougars play the Martin County Knights (Williamston, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 22. SouthWest Edgecombe will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Knights come into the bout with a 4-2 record after their 72-19 non-league win over Southside (Chocowinity, NC).
