Maine High School Basketball - Spruce Mountain fells Morse
December 21, 2023: Bath, ME 04530 Spruce Mountain Phoenix (Jay, ME) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Morse Shipbuilders (Bath, ME), 49-29 in a league bout.
With the win, Spruce Mountain upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Phoenix travel to Oceanside (Rockland, ME) to play the Mariners in a B South bout on Saturday, December 23. The Mariners go into the bout with a record of 4-0. Oceanside won 55-34 in their recent league bout against Yarmouth (Yarmouth, ME)
Next up, the Shipbuilders play the Belfast Lions (Belfast, ME) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 23. Morse will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record. The Lions go into the bout with a 2-1 record after their 47-18 league win over Maine Central Institute (Pittsfield, ME).
