Nevada High School Basketball - Amplus Academy holds off Beaver Dam
December 21, 2024: Las Vegas, NV 89113 The Amplus Academy Archers basketball team scored 22 points and limited the visiting Beaver Dam Diamondback to 20 in the Archers non-league triumph on Saturday.
The Archers now have a 3-5 record. They play next when they host Somerset Academy Losee for a 4A Sky game on Monday, January 6. Amplus Academy will confront a Lions team coming off a 40-32 non-league loss to Salem Academy (Salem, OR). The Lions record now stands at 4-2.
With the loss, Beaver Dam falls to 4-7 on the campaign. The Diamondback host Indian Springs (Indian Springs, NV) to confront the Thunderbirds in a non-league game on Tuesday, January 7. The Thunderbirds go into the game with a record of 4-2. Indian Springs won 52-15 in their recent non-league game against Founders Classical Academy (Las Vegas, NV)

Q4: Amplus was trailing 16-20 with less than 2 minutes left to play.
Amplus turned up the defensive pressure, forced turnovers and grabbed defensive rebounds while attacking the basket on the offensive end to make up the deficit. Lady Archers take the lead in the final seconds and held on to win the game.
After losing Friday’s first game vs PVHS, Amplus Lady Archers celebrated two victories on Saturday to go 2-1 overall for a good weekend of basketball before the Christmas Break.
