Geneva Vikings (Geneva, IL) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Metea Valley Mustangs (Aurora, IL), 61-55 in a non-league battle.

The Vikings now possess a 6-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to St. Charles East for a DuKane battle on Thursday, January 6.

The Mustangs (2-4) will now prepare for their battle against Vernon Hills (Vernon Hills, IL). The Cougars come into the non-league battle with a 9-2 record. In their last battle, Vernon Hills was nudged by Libertyville (Libertyville, IL), 51-38, in a non-league battle.
