Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Montgomery Central Timberwolves (Troy, NC) and the host Anson Bearcats (Wadesboro, NC), saw Montgomery Central's basketball squad wallop Anson by a tally of 66-25.

With the victory, Montgomery Central improves its record to 6-3 on the campaign. The Timberwolves host North Davidson (Lexington, NC) to confront the Black Knights in a 3A Conference 47 challenge on Friday, January 6. The Black Knights come into the challenge with a record of 6-5.

Next up, the Bearcats confront the Monroe Redhawks (Monroe, NC) in a 2A/3A Conference 44 challenge, on Tuesday, January 3. Anson will attempt to improve on its 1-7 season record.
