Vicksburg Gators (Vicksburg, MS) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Northwest Rankin Cougars (Brandon, MS), 62-59 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Vicksburg upgrades its record to 12-4 on the season. The Gators travel to Brighton (Brighton, TN) to play the Cardinals in a non-league bout on Wednesday, December 28. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 4-6. Brighton lost 39-30 in their recent non-league bout against Middle College (Memphis, TN)

Next up, the Cougars play the Germantown Mavericks (Madison, MS) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 30. Northwest Rankin will attempt to upgrade on its 1-5 season record. The Mavericks go into the bout with a 14-2 record after their 55-47 non-league win over Tupelo (Tupelo, MS).
