Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Nichols Vikings (Buffalo, NY) and the host Amherst Central Tigers (Amherst, NY), saw Nichols's basketball squad hold off Amherst Central by a tally of 81-80.

With the victory, Nichols improves its record to 3-3 on the campaign. The Vikings travel to Canisius (Buffalo, NY) to confront the Crusaders in a Monsignor Martin challenge on Thursday, January 4. The Crusaders come into the challenge with a record of 5-2.
