Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Merritt Island Christian Cougars (Merritt Island, FL) and the host St. Joseph Academy Flashes (St. Augustine, FL), saw Merritt Island Christian's basketball squad hold off St. Joseph Academy by a tally of 51-47.

With the victory, Merritt Island Christian improves its record to 9-2 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Rockledge (Rockledge, FL) to confront the Raiders in a non-league challenge on Monday, January 8. The Raiders come into the challenge with a record of 3-6.
