Illinois High School Basketball - Sparta holds off Christopher
December 27, 2022: Christopher, IL 62822 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Sparta Bulldogs (Sparta, IL) and the host Christopher Bearcats (Christopher, IL), saw Sparta's basketball squad hold off Christopher by a tally of 70-63.
With the victory, Sparta improves its record to 10-1 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Goreville (Goreville, IL) to confront the Blackcats in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, December 28. The Blackcats come into the challenge with a record of 7-3. Goreville won 68-29 in their recent non-league challenge against Cobden (Cobden, IL)
Next up, the Bearcats confront the Trico Pioneers (Campbell Hill, IL) in a Black Diamond - West challenge, on Tuesday, January 3. Christopher will attempt to improve on its 2-6 season record. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a 0-10 record after their 59-33 non-league loss to Murphysboro (Murphysboro, IL).
