Triton Hawks (Erwin, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting Clinton Dark Horses (Clinton, NC), 77-49 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Triton upgrades its record to 8-4 on the campaign. The Hawks travel to Westover (Fayetteville, NC) to play the Wolverines in a 3A/4A Conference 23 bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Wolverines come into the bout with a record of 8-2. Westover lost 45-35 in their recent league bout against E.E. Smith (Fayetteville, NC)

Next up, the Dark Horses play the East Bladen Eagles (Elizabethtown, NC) in a 2A Conference 7 bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Clinton will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Eagles come into the bout with a 9-1 record after their 72-47 non-league win over South Brunswick (Southport, NC).
