December 27, 2022: Colfax, IL 61728 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Oakwood Comets (Fithian, IL) and the host Ridgeview Mustangs (Colfax, IL), saw Oakwood's basketball squad hold off Ridgeview by a count of 51-48.
With the victory, Oakwood upgrades its record to 10-5 on the campaign. The Comets host Hoopeston (Hoopeston, IL) to play the Cornjerkers in a Vermilion Valley challenge on Tuesday, January 3. The Cornjerkers come into the challenge with a record of 8-7. Hoopeston won 69-33 in their recent non-league challenge against Fisher (Fisher, IL)
Next up, the Mustangs play the Cornerstone Christian Cyclones (Bloomington, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 3. Ridgeview will attempt to upgrade on its 3-11 season record. The Cyclones come into the challenge with a 9-3 record after their 71-44 non-league win over Cuba/Spoon River Valley (Cuba, IL).
