In Wednesday's non-league match, the host Apex Cougars basketball team scored a tight 57-55 triumph over the Overhills Jaguars.

In their next game, the Cougars meet the Triton Hawks (Erwin, NC) in a non-league match, on Thursday, December 28. Apex will attempt to move on its 4-4 season record. The Hawks enter the match with a 7-2 record after their 69-55 non-league win over Union Pines (Cameron, NC).

With the defeat, Overhills moves to 3-4 on the year. The Jaguars travel to Union Pines (Cameron, NC) to meet the Vikings in a non-league match on Thursday, December 28.
