In Friday's non-league contest, the visiting D'Hanis Cowboys basketball team scored a close 44-43 triumph over the Sabinal Yellowjackets.

The Cowboys (12-3) will now prepare for their contest against Utopia (Utopia, TX). The Buffaloes go into the 1A Region IV District 31 contest with a 15-2 record.

In their next game, the Yellowjackets battle the Utopia Buffaloes (Utopia, TX) in a non-league contest, on Saturday, December 28. Sabinal will attempt to better on its 6-10 season record.
