December 27, 2024: Claysville, PA 15323 McGuffey Highlanders (Claysville, PA) supporters left the game satisfied Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Fort Cherry Rangers (McDonald, PA), 69-40 in a non-league match.
With the victory, McGuffey advances its record to 8-1 on the year. The Highlanders travel to Chartiers-Houston (Houston, PA) to face the Buccaneers in a non-league match on Saturday, December 28. The Buccaneers enter the match with a record of 7-2. Chartiers-Houston won 60-46 in their recent non-league match against Avella (Avella, PA)
The Rangers now own a 2-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Washington for a non-league match on Saturday, January 4. Fort Cherry will face a Prexies squad coming off a 80-43 non-league loss to Canon-McMillan (Canonsburg, PA). The Prexies record now stands at 2-5.
