Pennsylvania High School Basketball - McGuffey overwhelms Carlynton
January 24, 2025: Carnegie, PA 15106 The McGuffey Highlanders basketball team scored 64 points and limited the host Carlynton Cougars to 38 in the Highlanders league triumph on Friday.
The Highlanders now possess a 13-3 record. They play next when they host Bishop Canevin for a WPIAL 3A 2 game on Tuesday, January 28. McGuffey will play a Crusaders team coming off a 59-40 league win over Washington (Washington, PA). The Crusaders record now stands at 5-7.
With the loss, Carlynton falls to 4-8 on the campaign. The Cougars host Ellwood City (Ellwood City, PA) to play the Wolverine in a non-league game on Saturday, January 25. The Wolverine go into the game with a record of 10-6. Ellwood City won 84-59 in their recent league game against Riverside (Ellwood City, PA)
