The New Bern Bears (New Bern, NC) basketball edged the visiting Spring Creek Gators (Seven Springs, NC), 58-56 in Friday's non-league bout.

The Bears now possess a 4-3 record. They play next when they travel to Living Water Christian for a non-league bout on Saturday, December 28. New Bern will play a Warriors team coming off a 96-60 non-league loss to Grace Christian (Sanford, NC). The Warriors record now stands at 8-7.

With the loss, Spring Creek falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Gators travel to Pamlico County (Bayboro, NC) to play the Hurricanes in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 28. The Hurricanes go into the bout with a record of 0-7. Pamlico County lost 70-55 in their recent non-league bout against Living Water Christian (Jacksonville, NC)
