In Wednesday's non-league outing, the New Castle Hurricanes (New Castle, PA) basketball squad felled the host Farrell Steelers (Farrell, PA), by a margin of 56-44.

The Hurricanes (8-0) will now prepare for their outing against North Allegheny (Wexford, PA). The Tigers go into the WPIAL 6A 1 outing with a 3-4 record. In their last outing, North Allegheny thwarted Franklin Regional (Murrysville, PA), 55-53, in a non-league outing.

The Steelers now own a 6-2 record. They play next when they host Mars for a non-league outing on Friday, December 30. Farrell will clash with a Fightin' Planets squad coming off a 84-67 non-league loss to St. Edward (Lakewood, OH). The Fightin' Planets record now stands at 5-1.
