Mitchell Mountaineers (Bakersville, NC) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Hiwassee Dam Eagles (Murphy, NC), 86-57 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mitchell upgrades its record to 4-5 on the season. The Mountaineers travel to Andrews (Andrews, NC) to play the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Friday, December 29. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 8-1. Andrews won 56-46 in their recent non-league bout against Madison (Marshall, NC)

Next up, the Eagles play the North Buncombe Black Hawks (Weaverville, NC) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 29. Hiwassee Dam will attempt to upgrade on its 2-7 season record.
