Montour Spartans (McKees Rocks, PA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting West Allegheny Indians (Imperial, PA), 50-41 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Montour upgrades its record to 6-2 on the season. The Spartans host West Mifflin (West Mifflin, PA) to clash with the Titans in a WPIAL 4A 4 bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Titans go into the bout with a record of 4-3. West Mifflin lost 66-55 in their recent non-league bout against McKeesport (McKeesport, PA)

Next up, the Indians clash with the Chartiers Valley Colts (Bridgeville, PA) in a WPIAL 5A 4 bout, on Tuesday, January 2. West Allegheny will attempt to upgrade on its 5-1 season record. The Colts go into the bout with a 5-5 record after their 57-53 non-league loss to Abington Heights (Clarks Summit, PA).
