The Pyramid Lake Lakers (Nixon, NV) basketball nipped the host Sparks Railroaders (Sparks, NV), 55-52 in Thursday's non-league contest.

The Lakers now sport a 6-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Coleville for a 1A West contest on Friday, January 5. Pyramid Lake will battle a Wolves team coming off a 59-38 non-league loss to Lone Pine (Lone Pine, CA). The Wolves record now stands at 0-5.

The Railroaders (2-10) will now prepare for their contest against Golden Valley (Merced, CA). The Cougars enter the non-league contest with a 9-4 record. In their last contest, Golden Valley nudged Pyramid Lake (Nixon, NV), 78-32, in a non-league contest.
