December 28, 2023: Laurel, MS 39443 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the South Jones Braves (Ellisville, MS) and the host West Jones Mustangs (Laurel, MS), saw South Jones's basketball squad knock off West Jones by a count of 64-56.
With the victory, South Jones upgrades its record to 7-5 on the campaign. The Braves travel to Laurel (Laurel, MS) to play the Golden Tornadoes in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 29. The Golden Tornadoes come into the challenge with a record of 6-8. Laurel won 55-36 in their recent non-league challenge against Northeast Jones (Laurel, MS)
Next up, the Mustangs play the Petal Panthers (Petal, MS) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. West Jones will attempt to upgrade on its 7-10 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 9-8 record after their 59-51 non-league win over St. Patrick (Biloxi, MS).
