Lincoln Cougars (Shinnston, WV) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Wirt County Tigers (Elizabeth, WV), 59-34 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Lincoln upgrades its record to 4-3 on the season. The Cougars travel to Doddridge County (West Union, WV) to clash with the Bulldogs in a non-league bout on Friday, December 29. The Bulldogs go into the bout with a record of 9-0. Doddridge County won 77-10 in their recent non-league bout against Notre Dame (Clarksburg, WV)

Next up, the Tigers clash with the Roane County Raiders (Spencer, WV) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 4. Wirt County will attempt to upgrade on its 3-5 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 6-4 record after their 85-40 non-league win over Magnolia (New Martinsville, WV).
