New York High School Basketball - Onteora holds off Newburgh Free Academy
December 28, 2023: Boiceville, NY 12412 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Onteora Eagles (Boiceville, NY) and the visiting Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks (Newburgh, NY), saw Onteora's basketball squad hold off Newburgh Free Academy by a tally of 57-52.
With the victory, Onteora improves its record to 2-3 on the campaign. The Eagles travel to Ellenville (Ellenville, NY) to confront the Blue Devils in a Section 9 MHAL I challenge on Thursday, January 4. The Blue Devils come into the challenge with a record of 1-4. Ellenville lost 55-33 in their recent league challenge against Pine Plains (Pine Plains, NY)
Next up, the Goldbacks confront the Goshen Central Gladiators (Goshen, NY) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, January 2. Newburgh Free Academy will attempt to improve on its 2-4 season record.
