The Sun Valley Spartans (Monroe, NC) basketball nipped the visiting Northwest Cabarrus Trojans (Concord, NC), 54-47 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Spartans (7-5) will now prepare for their test against Albemarle (Albemarle, NC). The Bulldogs go into the non-league test with a 8-1 record. In their last test, Albemarle got by Mooresville (Mooresville, NC), 61-22, in a non-league test.

The Trojans now own a 6-3 record. They play next when they travel to Mooresville for a non-league test on Friday, December 29. Northwest Cabarrus will encounter a Blue Devils squad coming off a 61-22 non-league loss to Albemarle (Albemarle, NC). The Blue Devils record now stands at 3-7.
