In Saturday's non-league contest, the host Apollo Ridge Vikings basketball team scored a good 57-39 win over the Leechburg Blue Devils.

The Vikings (3-7) will now prepare for their contest against South Allegheny (McKeesport, PA). The Gladiators come into the WPIAL 3A 3 contest with a 9-1 record. In their last contest, South Allegheny defeated West Mifflin (West Mifflin, PA), 79-44, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Blue Devils battle the Eden Christian Academy (Pittsburgh, PA) in a WPIAL 2A 2 contest, on Friday, January 3. Leechburg will attempt to better on its 2-9 season record. The come into the contest with a 2-7 record after their 62-51 non-league loss to Shenango (New Castle, PA).
