The crowd at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Westmont Hilltop Hilltoppers (Johnstown, PA) and the visiting Portage Mustangs (Portage, PA), observed Westmont Hilltop's basketball team overcome Portage by a margin of 63-47.

The Hilltoppers (8-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Clearfield (Clearfield, PA). The Bison come into the Laurel Highlands challenge with a 2-5 record. In their last challenge, Clearfield defeated Curwensville (Curwensville, PA), 72-62, in a non-league challenge.

In their next game, the Mustangs battle the Conemaugh Township Indians (Davidsville, PA) in a Heritage challenge, on Friday, January 3. Portage will attempt to better on its 6-3 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 7-2 record after their 66-26 non-league win over Cambria Heights (Patton, PA).
