In Saturday's non-league contest, the visiting Riverside Pirates basketball team scored a good 45-36 triumph over the Newton Local Indians.

The Pirates (4-5) will now prepare for their contest against Bethel (Tipp City, OH). The Bees go into the Three Rivers contest with a 5-3 record.

In their next game, the Indians battle the Dixie Greyhounds (New Lebanon, OH) in a Western Ohio contest, on Saturday, January 4. Newton Local will attempt to better on its 3-6 season record.
