The Alexander Central Cougars basketball team (Taylorsville, NC), dropped 52-41 in Wednesday's non-league battle with the host Hickory Red Tornadoes (Hickory, NC)

The Red Tornadoes now possess a 10-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host North Iredell for a 3A Conference 51 battle on Tuesday, January 4. Hickory will confront a Raiders team coming off a 80-65 non-league win over Bessemer City (Bessemer City, NC). The Raiders record now stands at 9-3.

The Cougars (10-2) will now prepare for their battle against Tabernacle Christian (Hickory, NC). The Conquerors come into the non-league battle with a 10-2 record. In their last battle, Tabernacle Christian beat Union Grove Christian (Lexington, NC), 72-58, in a non-league battle.
