Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Marple Newtown nips Bayard Rustin
December 29, 2022: Newtown Square, PA 19073 Marple Newtown Fightin' Tigers (Newtown Square, PA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Bayard Rustin Golden Knights (West Chester, PA), 55-51 in a non-league bout.
With the victory, Marple Newtown upgrades its record to 2-3 on the campaign. The Fightin' Tigers host Conestoga (Berwyn, PA) to play the Pioneers in a Central bout on Thursday, January 5. The Pioneers come into the bout with a record of 6-3. Conestoga won 71-66 in their recent league bout against Upper Darby (Drexel Hill, PA)
Next up, the Golden Knights play the Henderson Warriors (West Chester, PA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 3. Bayard Rustin will attempt to upgrade on its 3-6 season record. The Warriors come into the bout with a 6-3 record after their 82-69 non-league loss to Father Judge (Philadelphia, PA).
