The Mohawk Area Warriors basketball team scored 63 points and held the visiting Laurel Spartan to 54 in the Warriors non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Warriors now sport a 9-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Lincoln for a WPIAL 3A 1 contest on Tuesday, January 3. Mohawk Area will meet a Wolverine team coming off a 58-37 non-league win over Mercer (Mercer, PA). The Wolverine record now stands at 9-2.

The Spartan (2-4) will now prepare for their contest against Shenango (New Castle, PA). The Wildcats enter the WPIAL 2A 1 contest with a 3-2 record. In their last contest, Shenango ran past Hopewell (Aliquippa, PA), 71-40, in a non-league contest.
