Illinois High School Basketball - Joliet Central nudges North Lawndale

Joliet Central Steelmen (Joliet, IL) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host North Lawndale Phoenix (Chicago, IL), 56-52 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Joliet Central upgrades its record to 9-6 on the season. The Steelmen host Minooka (Minooka, IL) to clash with the Indians in a SouthWest Prairie bout on Friday, January 5. The Indians go into the bout with a record of 3-13. Minooka lost 45-38 in their recent non-league bout against Nazareth Academy (LaGrange Park, IL)

Next up, the Phoenix clash with the Lincoln Park Lions (Chicago, IL) in a Chicago Public - Red Northwest bout, on Wednesday, January 10. North Lawndale will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record.
