The Joshua Owls basketball team scored 62 points and held the visiting Rider Raiders to 59 in the Owls non-league triumph on Friday.

The Owls now sport a 5-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cleburne for a 5A Region I District 8 contest on Tuesday, January 2. Joshua will battle a Yellowjackets team coming off a 51-41 non-league loss to Grand Oaks (Spring, TX). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 2-16.

The Raiders (6-13) will now prepare for their contest against Paschal (Fort Worth, TX). The Panthers enter the non-league contest with a 8-8 record. In their last contest, Paschal was nudged by Fossil Ridge (Keller, TX), 57-49, in a non-league contest.
