Sinton Pirates (Sinton, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting King Mustangs (Corpus Christi, TX), 69-57 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Sinton upgrades its record to 8-14 on the season. The Pirates travel to Jones (Beeville, TX) to play the Trojans in a 4A Region IV District 30 bout on Tuesday, January 2. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 6-9. Jones won 47-42 in their recent non-league bout against Ingleside (Ingleside, TX)

Next up, the Mustangs play the Calhoun Sandcrabs (Port Lavaca, TX) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, December 30. King will attempt to upgrade on its 6-16 season record. The Sandcrabs go into the bout with a 1-10 record after their 75-44 non-league loss to Brenham (Brenham, TX).
