Mississippi High School Basketball - Madison Central tops Meridian
December 29, 2023: Meridian, MS 39305 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Madison Central Jaguars (Madison, MS) and the host Meridian Wildcats (Meridian, MS), saw Madison Central's basketball squad knock off Meridian by a tally of 64-50.
With the victory, Madison Central improves its record to 11-6 on the campaign. The Jaguars host Murrah (Jackson, MS) to play the Mustangs in a 7A Region 2 challenge on Friday, January 5. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 3-13. Murrah lost 62-59 in their recent non-league challenge against Brookhaven (Brookhaven, MS)
Next up, the Wildcats play the Pearl Pirates (Pearl, MS) in a 7A Region 3 challenge, on Friday, January 5. Meridian will attempt to improve on its 9-6 season record. The Pirates come into the challenge with a 13-5 record after their 71-53 non-league loss to Ridgeland (Ridgeland, MS).
