Illinois High School Basketball - Vernon Hills tops Maine East
December 29, 2023: Park Ridge, IL 60068 Fans at Friday's non-league challenge between the Vernon Hills Cougars (Vernon Hills, IL) and the host Maine East Blue Demons (Park Ridge, IL), saw Vernon Hills's basketball squad knock off Maine East by a count of 67-49.
With the victory, Vernon Hills upgrades its record to 8-7 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Maine West (Des Plaines, IL) to play the Warriors in a Central Suburban - North challenge on Tuesday, January 9. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 2-11. Maine West won 75-28 in their recent non-league challenge against Streamwood (Streamwood, IL)
Next up, the Blue Demons play the Providence Catholic Celtics (New Lenox, IL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, December 30. Maine East will attempt to upgrade on its 9-6 season record. The Celtics come into the challenge with a 7-7 record after their 71-67 non-league loss to Leyden (Franklin Park, IL).
