Washington High School Basketball - University Prep can't hold off Vashon Island
December 29, 2023: Seattle, WA 98115 The University Prep Pumas basketball team (Seattle, WA), was nudged 55-52 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Vashon Island Pirates (Vashon Island, WA)
The Pirates now sport a 2-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Bellevue Christian for a 1A Nisqually battle on Wednesday, January 3. Vashon Island will battle a Vikings team coming off a 81-40 non-league loss to Lynden Christian (Lynden, WA). The Vikings record now stands at 5-3.
The Pumas (1-7) will now prepare for their battle against Granite Falls (Granite Falls, WA). The Tigers come into the 1A Emerald Sound battle with a 2-6 record. In their last battle, Granite Falls was nudged by Mt. Baker (Deming, WA), 55-50, in a non-league battle.
